May Update

With more clarification on the governor’s policy around construction projects, TGP Contractor Mark Sexton has been given the go-ahead to move forward on construction of The Gathering Place! Work is beginning soon on the pump house and the new 57,000-gallon water tank. The concrete water tank will be constructed on site and is a necessary first step and precaution for fire suppression before bringing in combustible building materials.

Puget Sound Energy has been working with the Contractor as well to get electrical service established. Pouring the concrete water tank, preparing the pump house site and trenching for the electrical work will create a flurry of activity in the church parking lot in the coming days and weeks. We are pleased and excited to finally be underway.

If you still have a pledge to fulfill, you may send checks to Lummi Island Congregational Church, P. O. Box 6, Lummi Island, WA 98262. Please put “TGP” in the memo line and make checks payable to LICC. If you missed the earlier opportunity to pledge a contribution, we are still accepting them!
